Castel del Rio, a Renaissance Community, famous for one of the most important bridges  all over Italy, the Alidosi Bridge, and also for typical Renaissance castles, has an area of ​​about 52 sqkms and aroud 1,300 inhabitants. The whole area ranges from hill to the mountain, from 165 mts. above sea level to 950.

Santerno river is an important natural resource and is characterized by rocky walls, rich waters and a large variety of geological phenomena.

To the border with Tuscany, along the river sides, you find areas for bathing, picnics (Lido Valsalva and Alidosi Bridge) and fishing.

The environment is characterized by lush chestnut forests and is perfect for trekking, touring and biking.

The chestnuts of Castel del Rio are registred by an exclusive brand and their cultivation is promoted and protected.

How to get:

From Imola: SP 610 Selice Montanara towards Florence, 25 kms.
From Florence: Mugello / Firenzuola, then SP Mountain towards Castel del Rio.
